The DDR5 memory segment has been experiencing significant activity as it becomes standardized across all PC platforms. With memory prices dropping and the latest platforms becoming affordable, memory makers are constantly offering new solutions. Some focus on high-end specifications, while others focus on strengthening their gaming product portfolios.
With the arrival of DDR5 memory, KLEVV started to expand its memory lineup into mainstream and gaming categories. Serving the mainstream audiences are the standard SO-DIMM and U-DIMM RAM kits, while the gaming side gets the more premium BOLT V, CRAS V RGB, and CRAS XR5 RGB series memory. For today’s review, we were provided KLEVV’s CRAS V RGB, its more premium DDR5 line, which boasts faster speeds. We previously tested the kit with 7600 MT/s speeds and CL36 timings, but KLEVV was working on an even faster kit, which they have sent us for testing.
For today’s review, we were provided KLEVV’s CRAS V RGB, its more premium DDR5 line, which boasts speeds of up to 9600 MT/s and comes in up to 48 GB capacities (kits).
KLEVV CRAS V RGB DDR5-9600 48 GB Memory Kit Specifications
The KLEVV CRAS V RGB memory kits are designed as the more premium and overclocker-ready kit. That’s already apparent from its design and the specs on offer. The kit I received is optimized at a clock speed of 9600 Mbps (PC5-76800). The memory kit consists of dual 24 GB DIMMs, which make up a total of 48 GB in capacity.
The memory kit has a tested latency spec of CL46, and the timings are 46-58-58 for this specific kit. The voltage set at reference is 1.45V, which is lower than the XR5, which was rated at 1.55V for the DDR5-8000 kit, but higher than the 1.4V of the 7600 MT/s kit we tested earlier. The kit comes in an unbuffered package with an on-die ECC (Error Correction) design. The memory kit is fully compliant with Intel’s XMP and AMD EXPO profiles and can be easily set to its rated clock speeds through the BIOS shipped on the latest motherboards.

Once again, I want to talk a little bit about the premium aesthetics as the KLEVV CRAS V RGB comes in a black-color theme with silver glossy accents that look great, and there’s also a white option for the white PC builders out there to match their theme. The aluminum heatsink comes with an RGB diffuser, which also looks great. Some of the highlighted features include:
Exquisite Heatsink Design
Splendid RGB Lighting
Superior Aluminum Heatsink
Built-in PMIC for Improved Power Management
On-die ECC for Efficient Error Correction
Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD EXPO Ready
KLEVV CRAS V RGB 48 GB DDR5-9600 Memory Kit Unboxing and Close-Up
The KLEVV CRAS V RGB memory kit is packaged in a standard cardboard box with a picture of the memory on the front, along with the respective capacity and speeds.
The back of the package lists the various features of the KLEVV CRAS V RGB memory series, and the respective timings can also be seen along with the serial codes.
Out of the box, you are greeted with a very premium design, which I have been mentioning throughout this post.
Each module is hefty in terms of weight, and the matte black color scheme looks superb. I’d say that even without RGB, these are some fantastic-looking modules with a more mature look than some other “Gaming” designs.
The heatsink has the “CRAS V RGB” branding etched in metallic silver colors, and there is KLEVV branding in dark black on each side of the DIMM.
The modules are a bit tall, measuring 42.5 mm in height, which should be something to keep in mind when using air coolers. The rest of the modules measure 137.4mm x 8.0mm. The benefit of this larger heatsink is that the can sustain heavy loads as these modules are rated at a rather high 1.40V out of the box.
The diffuser comes with a KLEVV logo embedded on top of the acrylic cover. The whole diffuser runs the entire top length of the heatsink.
The back of each module lists the specifications, including the memory capacity, memory timings, and memory clocks.
In terms of looks and design, I would say that KLEVV nailed nail in this department. The CRAS V RGB looks amazing, and next up, we will see if its performance holds up.
Wccftech Memory Test Setup
For testing, I used the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 285K CPU on the MSI MEG Z890 Unify-X motherboard to evaluate the standard UDIMM & CUDIMM kits. The good thing about the Z890 motherboards is that they are rock solid when it comes to fast and CUDIMM memory support.
DDR5 Memory Kit Performance Tests
I have separated the performance tests into two sections. The first section consists of synthetic and general workload tests, while the second section focuses on gaming performance and how different games are affected by higher-clocked memory sticks.
Super PI is used by many overclockers to test the performance and stability of their computers. In the overclocking community, the standard program provides a benchmark for enthusiasts to compare “world record” Pi calculation times and demonstrate their overclocking abilities. The program can also be used to test the stability of a certain overclock speed.
WinRAR is a powerful archive manager. It can back up your data and reduce the size of email attachments, decompress RAR, ZIP, and other files downloaded from the Internet, and create new archives in RAR and ZIP file formats.

Gaming Performance Tests
Gaming applications generally don’t see huge gains with different memory kits, but DDR5 has enabled a huge gain in memory frequency, which can impact gaming performance. Moving from the stock 2133 Mbps (DDR4) to 6000+ Mbps can have a huge effect on performance, and the improved CAS timings on some of the high-end SKUs can result in better overall FPS and system responsiveness.

Conclusion – Super-Fast Speeds With Superb Design
KLEVV impressed me with its CRAS XR5 RGB memory kit last time, and I would say I am impressed once again with its CRAS V RGB option. The CRAS V is a step above the CRAS XR5, aiming at high-end enthusiasts and overclockers in a premium package. This time, the CRAS V series offers insane speeds of DDR5-9600, with CAS46 timings and 1.45V. This ensures that the CRAS V RGB runs cooler while making use of the latest SK hynix DRAM dies.
In terms of performance, the DDR5-9600 frequencies are on the enthusiast side, given the compatibility and QVL support on AMD’s AM5 and Intel’s LGA 1851 socketed platforms. You’ll have to check to ensure that your motherboard and CPU support the rated speeds. I used the MSI MEG Z890 Unify-X, which had no trouble in complying with the XMP profiles, but you will have to be wary of your CPU silicon and its IMC, which can affect support for such high-end memory dies. The kit performed just as we expected, offering top-tier performance & under the right conditions, you can even gain a bit extra performance to set some good benchmarks since the performance is hardly going to be noticeable in games or applications.
As for pricing, well, you all might have heard it, but DRAM shortages have really devastated the marketplace, and kits such as the KLEVV CRAS V RGB are selling for way higher than they were a few months back. This kit was supposed to be priced at around $400-$500, but now, we expect the price to be well over $1000 US for the same specs. Unfortunately, users will have to pay so much more for enthusiast-grade PC components due to a shortage that wasn’t caused by them.
Despite all of that, KLEVV’s continued innovation in the memory segment and its CRAS V RGB series has set a new standard for enthusiast-grade PC setups with a classy and fast memory kit.
